It offers up to a 16 mile range in optimal conditions (typically 1 mile in urban conditions), and privacy will not be a problem as you can choose from 121 privacy codes on each of the 22 FRS and GMRS channels. It also provides the iVOX feature, offering a built-in hands free system that is perfect for use in the car!
